Purpose** To organize, co-ordinate and manage the preventative maintenance program following the company's guidelines to implement reliability centered maintenance strategy with a primary focus on planned and long-term maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Co-ordinate maintenance activities between the Maintenance and Production front line supervisors
- Preparation and review of detailed work plans that include step by step instructions, safety considerations, special tasks or tools, weights of components, parts lists, type of lubricants to be used, etc.
- Review of PM’s to access their usefulness and determine updates as required.
- Creation of work orders for planned jobs & PM’s
- Close all Planned and PM work orders
- Track and maintain asset history
- Track, manage and maintain major component rebuilds and history
- Prepare scopes of work for major component rebuilds
- Procurement of parts and parts tracking for planned jobs in conjunction with the purchasing department.
- Prepare AFEs for Capital Budgeted expenditures
- Aid with the preparation of annual budgets
- Preparing monthly reports that include cost to date and work completed or outstanding for the month
- Optimizing repair schedules
- Implementing processes and systems to aid with planning functions and other duties as assigned
- Schedule in conjunction with the Short Term Scheduler to meet operational objectives
- Schedule 80% of available manpower for daily, weekly, and monthly Maintenance plan
- Have work schedules available and distributed in sufficient time to prepare for the tasks
- Ensure work schedules are done in conjunction with each of the supervisor’s available manpower and comply with operation’s needs.
- Monitor results to ensure achievement of goals
- PM’s are scheduled to allow sufficient time to complete the task prior to the due date.
Training and Education
- Post secondary education, either a trade, college diploma or equivalent experience
- MMP certification
- Minimum 3-5 years maintenance experience.
- A good knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants is essential.
- Computer literate with specific knowledge of CMMS, SAP, Excel, Word, Access and MS Project.
- Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, leadership skills, problem solving ability and familiarity with maintenance terminology.
