Position Snapshot Business areas: Nestle Canada Job title: Supply Planning Manager (22-month Contract) Location: North York, ON located at 25 Sheppard Ave W, North York, ON M2N 6S8; Hybrid A day in the life of the Supply Planning Manager As a Supply Planning Manager, you will be managing the Supply Network of the assigned area of the business by replenishing each dispatch point to meet customer service objectives whilst maintaining optimal stock cover that also takes into account the distribution costs. Identify and manage exceptions and monitor performance in order to continually improve the quality and reliability of the Demand & Supply Plan and the Company’s ability to sense and respond to changing circumstances.
What to Expect: We are looking for a Supply Planning Manager based at our North York location. You will be responsible for developing a set of feasible, effective and efficient set of plans that represent the best interpretation of cross functional assumptions regarding Customer / Consumer demand, and supply capacity and constraints through the Consumer Value Chain. Ensure the alignment of Customer Demand Plan with internal and external partners through the Monthly Business Planning and Collaborative Planning processes.
Role Requirements:
- Collect information and assumptions about events, activities in relation to promotions, product launches, customer/distributor distribution changes that form an important part of the demand plan.
- Collect information and assumptions about supply capacity and constraints to ensure stock is available to cover the demand.
- Collect the planning information required to define the optimal stock availability at each stock location point in the network at the best cost to serve.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to manage portfolio lifecycle, such as new product launches, packaging changes, phase-in/phase-out, and product discontinuation. Ensure that demand is appropriately forecasted and maintained in all circumstances, and appropriate stock levels are maintained to support I&R (Innovation & Renovation).
- Manage and maintain forecast over the planning horizon in OMP (Unison). Should have sufficient knowledge to be able to generate and maintain long range forecasts, combining incremental, impactors, and multiple data inputs. Maintain a robust post-mortem learning log.
- Participate & collaborate with cross functional teams to drive effective MBP processes (Monthly Business Planning), effectively communicating details and assumptions of the demand plan to key stakeholders.
- Analyze and evaluate the supply plan and net dispatch requirements to satisfy customer needs taking into account the network complexity and the supply constraints, including planned and optimized mixed loads taking into account transportation and storage constraints. Ensuring actions and Supply Plans are realistic and achievable In accordance with the Business Planning process
- Balance the need for product availability versus the need to minimize costs of inventory to ensure optimum stocks of the right material in the right location. Establish stock policies for Finished and Semi Finished Goods. To do this for Inter Market Supply together with Planners of Receiving Markets
- Periodically review the stock level of the domestic and the receiving markets to pro-actively look for solutions in case of deviations
- Analyze and effectively communicate key issues with volume variances and other relevant information to key stakeholders. Collaborate with cross functional teams highlighting all supply issues, detailing impacts of proposed actions and related tradeoffs ensuring actions and supply Plans are realistic and achievable in accordance with the Business Planning process
- To lead and coordinate the activities cross functions to effectively execute all Inter-Market Supply (IMS) related activities and projects of the Market, in accordance with the recommendations and priorities given by Zone Management and CO-SC (e.g. sourcing, best practices, route to market)
- Deliver sustained IMS performance and adherence to use of Product Briefs for items within managed category.
- Instil a progressive culture within the Team to be always looking for the continuous improvement of the IMS end-to-end process (i.e. planning, transportation lead times, freshness, etc.)

Preferred Skills:
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in the functions across Generating Demand or Ensuring Supply Areas with progressive and successful supply chain experience. Experience in one of the following areas:
- Technical & Production; Customer Service; Demand & Supply
- Planning; Customer Facing Supply Chain; Supply Chain Planning; Supply Chain Performance Acceleration team; Procurement, Factory Supply Chain
- Demonstrable record of success in supply planning, demand planning and value chain optimization.
- Education: Completed University Degree in business, operations management, supply chain, or logistics
- Knowledge and understanding of the Foodservice industry and commercial environment a definite asset.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Power BI, BW, JDE, PowerPoint, Word.
- Desirable to have had experience implementing LEAN concepts and tools
- Team player, with excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively across all functions and levels of the organization. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen.
- Ability to manage multi-functional projects, demonstrating strong planning and organization skills
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills. Exhibit people, performance management, mentoring, coaching and motivational skills.
