Reporting to the Director, System Support & Safety, the Supervisor, Logistics is a key part of a team that provides support and direction to the System Support team. In addition, the Supervisor, Logistics will provide general oversight of maintenance repair to provincial Paramedic Base Station's and support the management of all provincial Paramedicine materials management / supply chain activities.

The Supervisor, Logistics position will be largely responsible for ensuring System Support staff are directed, understood and supported. The Lead is accountable to exercise "highest standards of cleanliness available" in the industry.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for technicians and material handlers, providing guidance, coaching, and leadership while escalating performance and disciplinary issues to management.
  • Responsible for daily scheduling of Logistic technicians and material handlers work schedules, assignment of duties and other duties as assigned.
  • Oversees and assists with departmental operations, including provincial base supply chain inventory management, base facility inspections and repairs, documentation, and preparation of supplies for deployment and delivery.
  • Manages vendor relationships, places orders for medical supplies and equipment, resolves order discrepancies, and coordinates with various suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Handles administrative tasks such as tracking expenses, processing invoices, compiling reports, maintaining ledgers, entering hours in Telestaff, and supporting team orientation and training.
  • Participates in meetings and committees, ensures compliance with company policies and safe work practices, and performs additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Provides input into annual System Support equipment / supply management budgeting, forecasting and cost monitoring.

Professional Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years related experience in office administration/management including scheduling functions or a combination of relevant education and experience.

  • Minimum Grade 12

  • Training with scheduling software, preferably TeleStaff and working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience working in a Healthcare environment with exposure to procurement, materials management and operations, an asset.

  • Experience leading a team is an asset.

  • Experience working in a unionized environment.

  • Knowledge of payroll practices and processes relating to scheduling.

  • Experience with developing and working with budgeting processes.

  • Ability to complete and retain a class 4 NFLD Drivers' License in good standing.

  • Possesses WHIMIS certification, or a willingness to obtain and maintain.

  • Possesses Standard First Aid certification, or a willingness to obtain and maintain.

  • Displays good decision-making skills and takes initiative.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills with an ability to explain simple procedures in writing or verbally.

  • Effective in dealing with people and working in teams.

  • Self-organized, methodical and orderly with the ability to define tasks, establish priorities and implement them according to plan with attention to detail required in managing complex changes.

  • Ability to earn confidence, trust and respect from colleagues, present ideas clearly and concisely and follow through on commitments.

  • Demonstrated self-starter, decision-maker and problem-solver and work with a minimum level of supervision.

  • Some travel and after hours of on-call are required.
