About the role

Job Description WELDER Richmond - Fleet Maintenance Unit

Working as a team player, you are a responsible self-starter with strong technical and interpersonal abilities. You plan, supply, maintain, and perform the welding and fabrication needs of BC Ferries vessels, terminals, buildings, facilities, and new construction. You prepare sketches, order materials and organize staff required to perform welding projects. You perform welding and fabrication set-up and preparation, while coordinating work with other trades and contractors.

You have a thorough understanding of Industry standards, WBC regulations and safe work practices. You provide leadership for other apprenticeships, including input in performance assessment, and strive to maintain cooperative working relationships.

You hold an ‘B’ Level Welding Certificate, as well as a minimum 3 years’ related experience, with at least 1 year welding fabrication experience, preferably in the marine industry. All position CWB certification an asset. A valid BC driver’s licence is required as moderate travel throughout the fleet is required.
