About the role

The Canadian Chiropractic Association (CCA) is a national profession-based health care association representing over 8000 chiropractors across Canada. The association works closely with the 10 provincial associations to promote the profession and build strong relationships with provincial and federal governments to ensure the growth and recognition of the profession in the healthcare system. Position Overview:

Marketing and communications (MARCOM) are increasingly converging, and effective growth and reputation depend on an integrated approach across every channel. Reporting to the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications, the  Manager of Marketing and Communications  is a hands-on, creative and strategic professional who leads multi-channel campaigns and content that strengthen the CCA's brand, engages members and the public, and supports organizational priorities, ensuring alignment with CCA purpose, values, and brand standards across member and public channels.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing & Communications (MARCOM)   85%

  • In collaboration with the Associate Director of MARCOM, creates and executes, marketing strategies and integrated campaigns for the organization, including public awareness initiatives, World Spine Day, advocacy campaigns, member engagement, patient outreach, etc., ensuring alignment with CCA’s strategic objectives.
  • Leads MARCOM support for in-person events and outreach initiatives, including school visits, roadshows, and the CCA National Convention and Tradeshow (NCT), working collaboratively with the Associate Director of MARCOM and Membership Experience team to develop and execute event-specific MARCOM plans. This may include event branding, programming promotion, scripting and copywriting across CCA assets (website, brochures, ads, PR, etc.).
  • End-to-end marketing and communications development and execution: Own, research, develop, write, and edit content and communications assets across a variety of channels (e.g., website, bi-weekly email newsletters, scripts, social media, and other digital and print materials), including member channels and community management support (moderation, response, and escalation). Demonstrate a strong understanding of how to tailor messaging to engage diverse audiences, including members, patients, policymakers, and the public, while ensuring each message is purposeful and aligned with CCA priorities.
  • Draft, build, segment, test, and disseminate email campaigns using our email management system.
  • Identify opportunities for proactive storytelling and campaigns, clearly understanding and communicating the purpose and intended impact behind each initiative. Manages ongoing editorial calendar.
  • Maintain and update website and blog content. Provide guidance on best practices for other contributing departments.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director of MARCOM, graphic designer, and other teammates to support the development of PowerPoint presentations for the Executive Leadership Team, as needed, for internal and external use.
  • Assists the Associate Director of MARCOM with media relations and issues management, build media relations and outreach programs, liaise with internal working groups, support crisis communication strategies, including providing efficient and effective response to issues impacting the profession and association, and managing historical messaging
  • Oversee broad MARCOM measurement and reporting, including campaign performance, digital and email metrics, audience insights, and member engagement, and uses findings to continuously improve strategies and tactics

Management & Team Development   15%

  • Proactively monitor the healthcare landscape to stay ahead of emerging developments, issues, and opportunities, establishing an early warning system to inform and advise the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Lead, motivate, and inspire MARCOM teammates to achieve their personal best, grow their skills and potential, and continuously improve how we work.
  • In collaboration with the MARCOM team, lead the tracking and reporting of MARCOM deliverables, including monthly and quarterly report, and prepare related briefs and updates as required.
  • Liaise with internal and external partners, associations, vendors, and stakeholders on behalf of the CCA, as required.
  • Provide timely, constructive, and actionable feedback to team members to support performance, development, and accountability.

Qualifications & Relevant Skills:

  • University degree or post-graduate diploma in Marketing/Communications/Journalism
  • Digital media, content development, design, project management certifications
  • Management or Supervisory position (4+ years)
  • Senior-level marketing and communications experience, including content strategy, development, and management.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and apply strong proofreading and quality control.
  • Strong initiative, ownership, and accountability, with sound problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with diverse partners.
  • Strong research, interviewing, and storytelling skills across print, web, social, and video.
  • Proven ability to develop creative campaigns and manage, publish, and optimize content across web, email, and social channels.
  • Media relations experience, including pitching and managing relationships with media.
  • Ability to steward and promote the CCA brand and the value of chiropractic within a changing healthcare environment.
  • Collaborative team player who thrives in an open-concept environment and brings a growth mindset.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
  • Experience with Marketing Cloud and Salesforce is an asset; experience with other CRM platforms is also an asset.

Location:  Toronto Office (Hybrid) – 3 days in office, 2 days remote

Hiring Range: $75,000-80,000   commensurate with experience.
