The Institute for Mental Health Policy Research (IMHPR) at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is currently seeking a full-time, contract (1 year, with possibility of renewal) Research Coordinator. Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the Research Coordinator will work with Dr. Daisy Singla (Senior Scientist at CAMH) on a project that aims to build an open-access mental health training platform that combines AI-powered virtual patients, case-based learning, and feedback tools into a single training environment. This is a multi-site study with partners in the United States and India.

Key Accountabilities The Research Coordinator will collaborate with the research team and investigators in the coordination of the project. The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Lead day to day project coordination
  • Facilitate communication between research teams at CAMH and the subsites, as well as with the technology partner and funder
  • Ensure project milestones are met and deliverables executed
  • Organize all training materials and intervention protocols
  • Lead the preparation of research ethics submissions, project updates, and knowledge translation products, including reports and presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to the identification and implementation of a learning management system (LMS), working alongside the technology partner
  • Oversee data entry and data management (REDCap)
  • Oversee data analysis among study team members
  • Provide database training to, and supervision of, data management/entry staff as well as training study team members on an as needed basis.
  • Inform, conduct and analyze focus group discussions
  • Coordinate with contracted information technology consultants/companies on an as needed basis to ensure the proper functioning of server, computers, databases
  • Help facilitate effective, cross-cultural, interdisciplinary collaboration, ensuring smooth project execution and meaningful dissemination of results
  • Lead regular meetings with Principal Investigator(s) and research study team to communicate project progress
  • Provide administrative support on all elements of the project

This position is located within the Institute for Mental Health Policy Research (IMHPR) located at 60 White Squirrel Way, Queen Street Site.

Job Requirements The successful candidate will possess a Master’s in psychology, health systems, or relevant discipline with 2 years relevant research experience.

  • Strong ability to lead and coordinate large scale multi-site research projects
  • Must have experience in conducting focus groups discussions and analyzing the data using NVivo
  • Must have experience in data management and data analysis (SAS experience preferred)
  • Must have a strong ability to exercise sound judgment, independence and initiative
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) and be comfortable engaging and exchanging information with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving abilities with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience supervising and coordinating staff
  • Experience with digital mental health process and procedures preferred
  • Understanding and experience in working with Learning Management Systems preferred

The candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and work effectively in a variety of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
