Position Summary

Slegg Building Materials is seeking a Temporary Transfer Order Puller. This role works closely with the Operations and Retail teams, assembling special order and stock transfers for delivery to other branches. The shifts are Monday - Friday 1pm - 9:30pm The wage range is $21.75 - $26.25 per hour, plus night shift premium.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers.
  • Maintain an emphasis on a safety culture, customer service, and efficiency as top priorities.
  • General housekeeping duties, stocking of merchandise or various yard and warehouse tasks are as required or directed by management.
  • Practice and promote workplace safety standards.
  • Assemble transfer orders for deliveries and pickups with 100% accuracy.
  • Follow warehouse board process.
  • Utilize and keep the Transfer board up to date.
  • Maintain impeccable communication regarding; Short stock, damaged stock, Special order hardware, time management (same day orders, workload management).
  • Perform Auditing on orders (both hardware and all other shipping orders).
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • Perform daily inspections of lift trucks and complete required forms.
  • Ensure lift truck maintenance and servicing requirements are met.
  • Build orders to required specifications for transfer shipment.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A broad knowledge of building supplies is necessary.
  • Valid forklift certification (propane)
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined work habits.
  • Forklift experience an asset.
  • Available to work a variety of hours.
  • Competitive spirit and results driven.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
  • Sitting and standing for extended periods of time
  • Pulling, pushing, bending and torso twisting movements with weight
