Temporary Position
Bishop Belleau School, Moosonee
Effective immediately to the end of June
During the school day, up to 25 hours per week based on availability
The Northeastern Catholic District School Board (NCDSB) is funding Learning Recovery Program Tutors. This in-person tutoring opportunity will provide postsecondary students and graduates with an opportunity to develop and enhance their educational experience by linking academic learning in a practical environment. The Learning Recovery Program Tutors will support NCDSB students in Kindergarten to Grade 8 in literacy, numeracy, and foundational learning skills, by assisting in pre- and post- assessments, providing student supports as per students’ needs to assist in learning recovery and closing achievement gaps, and supporting learning in a trusted environment grounded in the principles of high quality Catholic education.
JOB REQUIREMENTS**:**
- Must be a post-secondary student enrolled in a college or university;
- Excellent understanding and knowledge in the area of Literacy and Mathematics;
- Proven ability to work as a member of a team and independently;
- Strong computer skills / Use of technology, including Google Apps for Education
- Excellent verbal and written skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Life experiences that are relatable to students at the elementary panel;
- French as a Second Language is an asset for schools with French Immersion programming;
- Experience in a classroom setting and/or working with children and youth would be considered an asset.
SALARY
$20.16/ hour
