Job Summary A well-established plaintiff-side personal injury law firm in North York is seeking a Personal Injury Lawyer with 3-5 years of experience handling personal injury matters. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in tort and accident benefits (AB) claims , excellent client-management skills, and the ability to manage files independently while working within a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of personal injury files, including both tort and accident benefits matters.
• Conduct initial client meetings, provide legal opinions, and develop case strategy.
• Draft pleadings, motion materials, mediation briefs, settlement proposals, and other legal documents.
• Attend mediations, discoveries, court appearances, and tribunal hearings as required.
• Oversee AB claims and coordinate with clerks and support staff regarding documentation, medical-legal reports, undertakings, and file progress.
• Engage in negotiations with insurers, defense counsel, and other parties to achieve fair settlements.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and managing expectations throughout the litigation process.
• Ensure deadlines are diarized, monitored, and met for both tort and AB matters.

Requirements / Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in Plaintiff Personal Injury law (tort and/or AB).
• Strong knowledge of Ontario accident benefits, personal injury litigation procedure, and relevant legislation.
• Proven ability to manage files from intake through resolution with minimal supervision.
• Excellent legal research, analytical, drafting, and advocacy skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-focused approach.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines.
• Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario (LSO).
