The opportunity:

Are you passionate about driving impactful research and leading innovative projects? The THRiVE Discovery Lab is looking for a Research Project Manager to help lead projects on infant nutrition, human milk composition, the microbiome, and early-life health outcomes. In this role, you'll oversee comprehensive project planning and implementation, coordinate with collaborators, manage budgets, and develop communication strategies. From ethics submissions to milestone tracking, you'll ensure every piece of the puzzle fits perfectly. This is an exciting opportunity to join our transdisciplinary team advancing global child health through rigorous, meaningful research.

The qualifications and experience we’re looking for:

  • PhD in related study area with three years = directly related experience.

OR

  • Master's degree in related study area with five years = directly related experience.

OR

  • Bachelor's degree in related study area with seven years = related experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing and implementing research projects in an academic setting.
  • Successful completion of a Project Management Certification (e.g. PMP, Prince2) is required.
  • Preparing and submitting ethics applications in compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitoring project budgets and expenditures, with the ability to work within time and budget constraints.
  • Preparing progress and final reports to funding agencies.
  • Successful experience in completing scientific project(s): conception, literature review, ethics application, reporting and presenting results is required.
  • Developing outputs used for scientific communication: tables, graphs, charts, posters,
  • Proficiency in using project management software and tools to plan, track, and report project progress is required. diagrams, etc. is an asset.
  • Experience with data management and/or statistical analysis is an asset.
  • An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Strong planning, organizing, facilitating, decision making, and multitasking skills are required to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively is required.
  • Process mapping skills are required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English to facilitate clear and effective communication with team members and stakeholders, with the ability to present to a large group is required.
  • Ability to foster effective communication and collaboration among team members, encouraging a positive and productive work environment is required.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards throughout project execution, including in the preparation of reports, manuscripts, and other project related documents is required.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented mindset with the ability to anticipate needs and challenges is required.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team is required.
  • Ability to keep abreast of research developments in maternal child health, nutrition, developmental origins of health and disease, microbiome and multi-omics is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom, MS Teams is required including proficiency in using advanced features associated with word processing applications such as footnotes/endnotes, table of contents, bibliographies, and indexes is required.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new software platforms is required.
  • Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
