MAINTENANCE WORKER/GARDENER

DUTIES
Reporting to the Facility Manager the incumbent is responsible for maintenance, repairs (plumbing, mechanical and carpentry duties etc.),
grounds keeping, and operating machinery and custodial equipment within the UCN The Pas campus and UCN sites. Responsibilities include,
but are not limited to the day-to-day maintenance and grounds keeping, responding to and reporting maintenance requests, performing
routine walk-throughs of the buildings and sites, taking appropriate actions as needed, performing minor maintenance repairs, and responding
to emergency calls for assistance when needed and other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience gardening/groundskeeping
- Ability to provide excellent customer service experience in a fast-paced environment
- Experience and ability to maintain and repair equipment required for duties assigned
- Experience and ability to use mowers, weeding equipment, general gardening tools, and snow blower
- Experience and ability to operate automotive equipment, machinery, hand and power tools, in a safe manner
- Knowledge of safe use and application of chemicals (i.e. WHMIS)
- Capable of working in an environment where priorities may change quickly
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and follow through to tasks until completion
- Initiative and the ability to work independently as well as part of team, with minimal supervision
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Commitment to lifelong learning
