What You’ll Do:

As an Events Student, you will have the unique opportunity to work on some of Canada’s most iconic brands, including Canadian Tire, Sport Chek and Mark’s. Reporting to the Events Manager, you will support both the Brand Experience and Corporate Events teams, while also working cross-functionally across Strategic Communications.

You will assist with the planning and execution of events and brand experiences of varying sizes and budgets, ranging from research, concepting and ideation to execution, onsite support and post-event reporting. This role requires the ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, creative and dynamic environment.

  • Support the development and execution of brand experiences and corporate events that meet business and stakeholder requirements while ensuring consistent, timely and efficient communication
  • Assist with planning and executing events from research and ideation through to delivery and post-event reflection
  • Manage workback schedules, timelines and milestones to help keep programs on track
  • Support cross-functional and internal teams with program planning, including objectives, timelines and budgets
  • Act as a collaborative team player, working closely with managers, business leads, agencies and project teams to develop effective integrated plans
  • Conduct research to support project planning and concept development
  • Execute day-to-day tasks that support overall business objectives
  • Coordinate sourcing, ordering and shipping of products and assets
  • Support the development of key event materials including SOWs, budgets, planning documents, RFPs, internal presentations and media wrap reports
  • Liaise with external agencies and internal business units to support activations, utilize assets and execute strategic plans

What you’ll bring:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Marketing, Event Management, Business Administration, Project Management, Public Relations, or a related discipline
  • Exposure to event planning and/or project management
  • Knowledge of industry trends in event and experiential marketing
  • Strong spoken and interpersonal communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented and constantly evolving environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); advanced skills are an asset
  • Experience with tools such as Canva and Swoogo is considered an asset
  • An exceptional communicator with the confidence and passion to share ideas and knowledge
  • A collaborative team player who builds strong relationships and contributes to positive team experiences
  • Comfortable working evenings and weekends and able to travel as required

Our typical hiring range is between $23.00 and $37.00 CAD Hourly. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, job-related knowledge, skills and competencies, market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements.
