Working within a multi-disciplinary team framework throughout Oxford County, the Concurrent Clinician will provide support to individuals presenting with concurrent substance abuse concerns and Mental Illness. The Clinician will work closely with the team to provide ongoing support and coverage.

WHAT WE'RE OFFERING:

-What you'll be making -Starting rate for this role is$30.01per hour (Level 1 of theDirect Service, Regulated Professional Grid);

  • Successful external applicants will start at Level 1, with grid progression based on seniority up to Level 8, $37.26 per hour -When you'll work- 70 hours over a two-week period; Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm -What your benefits will be- You will receive 9% in lieu of health benefits -Your pension plan– Eligible for immediate, optional enrolment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)

HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING A DIFFERENCE:

Assessment, Crisis Support, and Follow up:

  • Assess clients’ mental, physical and emotional functional abilities and needs and investigates client’s present resources
  • Provide crisis support and crisis prevention planning
  • Devise a treatment plan with the client, establishing goals to meet determined needs
  • Provides skill teaching, concrete counselling, and support to clients to assist in goal achievement
  • Work in collaboration with partners to provide timely interventions
  • Provide discharge planning

Documentation:

  • Complete required documentation related to clients as per the organization’s standards, discipline-specific guidelines and standards and PHIPA legislation
  • Ensure that confidential program/caseload information and material is handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws and the organization’s policy

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY:

Police Vulnerable Sector Check

Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) completed within the last six months. In order to avoid delays in beginning a position, interested applicants who are in need of a PVSC are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible.

We require the following qualifications:

  • RPN, RN, or Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy, Social Work, or Psychology or related field is required**(primary proof of credentials will be required during the hiring process i.e. original degree/diploma or official transcript)**
  • Currently registered and in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (as an RSW), the College of Nurses of Ontario, the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, or the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle with at least $2 million in liability insurance to occasionally transport clients
  • Current, clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)
  • Ability to attend work regularly

We prefer the following qualifications:

  • Experience supporting individuals with significant mental health concerns, addiction and counselling experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Recovery principles
  • Knowledge of community services in Oxford County
  • Ability to develop short-term treatment plans in conjunction with the individual
  • Ability to advocate for and coordinate service access with clients
  • Crisis Management/Intervention Skills
  • Knowledge of Narrative Practices in Single session therapy
  • Knowledge of the Recovery model
  • Knowledge of attributes of serious mental illness and pharmaceuticals used in the treatment of mental illness
  • Knowledge of Legal system
  • Experience working with individuals with an ABI or Development Disability
  • Treatment of Addictions
  • First Aid & CPR
