The Opportunity The Contract Analyst supports Facility Integrity programs across Canada by delivering strategic sourcing and contract management solutions that align with Business Unit objectives. In this role, you will support, develop, and lead program and portfolio strategies, while managing the full contract lifecycle—from developing sourcing strategies and leading competitive sourcing events to negotiating, awarding, and administering contracts. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive effective supplier performance, including the development of key performance indicators, and foster strong, collaborative relationships. Success in this role requires the ability to balance business needs with governance requirements, applying supply chain best practices, processes, and policies to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective outcomes. What you'll do Support or lead development of high-quality strategies detailing how contracts are to be sourced and awarded, including understanding and applying market intelligence, the various commercial models available, and the criteria for evaluation of proponents Lead and coordinate proposal analysis and proposal commercial evaluations in collaboration with the BU and other stakeholder groups Develop, issue and manage sourcing events (RFPs, RFQ, RFIs, etc.) through SAP/ARIBA Oversee management of the Contract Administration lifecycle (negotiation to issue / close) including amendments, change orders, supplier performance, supplier nonconformance reporting and financial reviews of supplier spend and limits Negotiate contract commercial terms in alignment to the BU drivers, ensuring they also meet the requirements of internal stakeholders (i.e., risk, legal, project management, etc.) and TC Energy standards Facilitate and manage a cross-functional team engagement model during contract negotiation, formation, administration and sourcing Document and communicate recommendations for contract award to Supply Chain leader Understand and utilize various contract commercial models as required (e.g. lump sum, cost reimbursable (fixed, target), time and materials, and various other hybrid models); Identify, understand, and compile internal demand in partnership with the BU Oversee maintenance of contract records in SAP and the Ariba Contract Management System, ensuring contract compliance requirements are met Collect, analyze and interpret market intelligence, ensure findings are factored into strategies Engage frequently with multiple internal and external stakeholders at various levels of leadership Provide input and recommendations in managing commercially disputed contractual issues Liaise between the BU and other Supply Chain departments or internal stakeholders, and contribute to the positive relationship between the Supply Chain embedded teams and centralized Supply Chain teams Manage supplier performance scorecards owned by the team and facilitate regular supplier feedback discussions Facilitate supplier qualifications as per the TC Energy supplier qualification process; manage existing suppliers qualifications requirements Minimum Qualifications A University Degree and/or designation in a Supply Chain Management program or related field of education Minimum 4 years of Supply Chain Management or related/relevant experience A combination of education and experience may be considered Preferred Qualifications Construction or industrial maintenance related supply chain experience Oil and gas related supply chain experience Experience with SAP, Ariba, Power BI, Aravo and SharePoint Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills; able to distill concepts concisely Aptitude and curiosity for technical topics (i.e. seek to understand what material/service is being sourced and why; how can we use tools and technologies to enhance our deliverables/service offering) Project management skills including stakeholder, schedule, cost and meeting management Experience developing, implementing and executing/sustaining Supply Chain strategies To remain competitive, support our high-performance culture and allow for more flexibility in the way we work, we offer a hybrid work model and flexible dress code for our eligible office-based workforce in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. #LI-Hybrid About our business We are a leader in North American energy infrastructure, spanning Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.
