PURPOSE OF POSITION Responsible for field engineering support of all Precision Inc. products within the assigned territory and/or products including but not limited to technical product performance issues (SAR’s), product applications and gathering of technical data to quote and produce PPI-Global products.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. More Specifically, The Employee Owner Will
- Respond to customer needs within the assigned territory and/or product range. The assigned territory will require a focus on Industrial and Heavy Mining Conveyor products. The position also includes providing technical support services over the phone for the Sales Ops organization, especially while working in the home office when not traveling.
- The position is primarily domestic with some international travel. This position requires a minimum 50% travel commitment with the ability to drive and/or fly for extended periods.
- Have responsibilities related to accounts or projects within the territory. On site services include surveys, technical product information, conveyor design training, conveyor component training, problem solving, root cause analysis, and applications engineering. In addition, this position requires the ability to successfully conduct failure analysis and resolution with internal and external reporting.
- Establish good communications and a working rapport with Product Engineering and the Territory Sales team to ensure a high level of customer service is delivered. This includes weekly / posted communication of travel itineraries to your supervisor and other affected team members.
- Understand Precision Inc. products and the applications in which they are used.
- Be responsible for labor reporting when Precision Inc. will charge for field services, to include details of work performed, time required for completion and cost charged to the customer for said work.
- Be responsible for adherence to all safety rules and guidelines as specified by Precision Inc and any facility being visited. This including obtaining a Certificate of Insurance (during planning stages) for all assignments where “mechanical work” will be performed, having OSHA certifications as well as MSHA certifications.
- Demonstrate proficiency with the use of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Video Conferencing (Zoom and Teams) and email.
- Continually exhibit the qualities of honesty, trustworthiness, a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Apply good verbal and written communication skills to internal and external customers.
- Work hours and workdays can vary significantly based on customer demands. Regular and consistent attendance is required, and odd or extra hours may be required as needed.
- Be responsible for analyzing, inspecting and recommending products to be reworked, refurbished and/or modified to include a report when required.
- May be required to lead a team of 3-4 individuals who are assigned on-site responsibility for the Life Cycle management of PPI products for the length of time as contracted with/by PPI customers. This will include a monthly review of the performance of PPI products at the contracted locations and technical support for contracted locations.

- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in the Engineering field from a four-year college or university
- A two-year technical degree with three to five years of related experience and/or training: or
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
TRAINING – CERTIFICATIONS – LICENSES
- Valid driver’s license and Valid passport
- Mine Safety Training (will be provided if not already acquired)
- Continually participate in additional training related to the job.
