POSITION: Teacher Counsellor
ASSIGNMENT: Counselling (Gr 10 - 12)
FTE: 1.0
LOCATION: Correlieu Secondary
**EFFECTIVE DATES: Commencing September 1, 2026 and continuing **
**Basic Qualifications: ** A successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch AND possess one or more of the following:
**Training Specialization: ** Secondary Education with a Master's Degree in Counselling
**Related Teaching Experience: ** Recent successful experience as a Secondary School Counsellor
**A Reasonable Expectation: **based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development, and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff.
**Additional Qualifications: ** Master's Degree in Counselling
**Other: **
- Commitment to the School growth Plan
- Ability to work as a team player, a team teacher and as a promoter of current educational change
- Ability and desire to meet the educational program needs of students with a wide range of abilities and attitudes
- Commitment to the School Based Team
- Willingness to provide support and develop programs in collaboration with the Youth Care Workers
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Willingness to collaborate with other professional staff at the school and district levels
- Ability to advocate for student needs with community agencies.
The annual salary for the full-time Teacher ranges from $64,901 to $116,190 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
