As the Team Lead, Data Strategy you will be responsible for developing and executing Calgary Transit's (CT) data strategy to use as a strategic asset. You will foster a data-centric culture that enables Calgary Transit to make date-driven decisions and deliver high-quality services to Calgarians. Primary duties include:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with Calgary Transit's overall goals, ensuring data initiatives support business growth, efficiency and innovation.
- Establish and oversee data governance practices, including policies, procedures and controls that ensure data integrity, security and compliance with corporate standards and maintain trusted, well-governed data.
- Lead and mentor a team of data professionals, oversee performance, provide regular direction and coaching, encourage continuous improvement and support career growth.
- Collaborate with key data owners to understand and address current and future data management needs, challenges, opportunities and solutions and ensure alignment with Corporate City of Calgary best practices across the business unit.
- Explore new and emerging data best practices and technologies to strengthen Calgary Transit¿s data stewardship, compliance and data management framework.
- Provide analytical support to divisions and leverage data insights for strategic planning and decision making.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive reports and presentations.
Qualifications
- A degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field and at least 7 years of relevant professional experience in areas such as data management, analysis and/or modelling with at least 2 of those years managing staff or projects.
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
- The successful candidate will have a strong technical knowledge with the ability to navigate complex data management and analytics environments.
- Experience in developing and support a Data Strategy and Data Governance framework is considered an asset.
- Success in this position requires strong leadership and communications skills, sound decision making, critical thinking and problem-solving, and the ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships.

Workstyle
- This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

**Compensation:**Level A2 $115,627 - 144,534 per annum
**Hours of work:**Standard 35 hour work week.
**Days of work:**This position works a 5-day work week with one day off in a 3 week cycle.
