Summary The Electrician is mainly responsible for Plant Services. inspection and repair work on all facilities and systems within the scope of work defined by the Facility Maintenance services Agreement ("FMSA"), as and when required, directed or assigned, consistent with his or her skills, abilities and training.
Key Duties & Responsibilities Maintenance
- Installs, tests, troubleshoots, repair, services and maintains a wide variety of electronic/electrical systems and related components, including but not limited to, fire safety systems, closed circuit television (CCTV) systems, access control systems, security systems and appliances and equipment
- Performs work in accordance to established processes and practices.
- Complies with all internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection.
- Performs regular facility and facility non-technical component monitoring and inspection.
- Provides observations about facility, grounds and non-technical component conditions and deficiencies, and provides suggestions for enhancements and repair.
- Responds to service requests and performs preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Operates facility mechanical, electrical and other systems.
- Manages work order life cycle progressing the work form dispatched through to completion and records resolution data within service maintenance management database. Ensures work completed meets quality, contract response and all other requirements.
- Assists in the implementation of preventative maintenance (PM) program. Ensures that deficiencies are identified, recorded and escalated, and that related documents are maintained.
Client Relations
- Assists in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations through manner in which work is performed and services delivered.
- Daily interaction with clinical staff.
Administration
- Records resolution data within service maintenance management database. Ensures work completed meets quality, contract response and all other requirements.
- Receives, tracks, monitors and reports status of maintenance and repair work within service maintenance management database.
- Initiates documents to obtain formal approval of work required.
- Participates in and assists with facility-related projects.
- Ensures the manner in which work is performed is in compliance with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices and guidelines related to environmental, health and safety, fire protection and any other applicable requirements.
- Maintains all assigned tools and arranges for repair and replacement where required.
- Submits all expenditures on a timely basis.
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
- Up to 3-5 years of facility operations and maintenance work experience
- Ability to adhere and to properly execute processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance
- Ability to maintain facility groups and facility components
- Ability to provide observation about facility conditions and deficiencies, and to provide suggestions for enhancements
- Ability to research, learn and gain greater proficiency in applying the following on-the-job—fire, life, safety and building codes and standards
- Possesses a strong environmental, health and safety mindset. Ability to perform work in a safe manner
- Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency
- Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification
- Must be able and willing to work shifts, be available for on-call/standby and emergency call-outs as they arise
- Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment.
- Must meet enhanced security clearance requirements
Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation
- Electrician Certification
Preferred
- Diesel Power Generation system experience
- High level of computer operational skills
This is a temporary contract, full-time position with a salary of $40.44 per hour.
