About the role
Location: Niagara Region, Ontario
Reports To: Sales Manager
Position Summary An experienced and creative Decor Manager is required to lead and oversee all aspects of the décor experience for new homebuyers. This role will manage the décor team, oversee décor centres and model home selections, source innovative finishes, and ensure an exceptional customer experience throughout the home selection process. The Decor Manager will align interior finish selections with current market trends, supply chain considerations, and established product standards.
Key Responsibilities Team & Operations Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and manage the Decor Team, including Design Consultants and administrative staff.
- Oversee daily operations of the Decor Centre(s), including scheduling, staffing, and customer appointments.
- Ensure a seamless and professional homeowner experience from sale through décor selections.
Selections Management
- Oversee and maintain the complete selections process for all new home purchases using BuilderTrend.
- Coordinate selections with Construction, Sales, and Estimating teams in a timely manner.
- Review and approve custom requests or upgrades, ensuring feasibility, pricing accuracy, and design integrity.
- Manage all selections documentation and workflows through BuilderTrend.
Design Leadership & Trends
- Curate and maintain a relevant and competitive selection of finishes, fixtures, and design options.
- Source innovative materials that align with buyer preferences, construction timelines, and budget parameters.
- Provide strategic design input for model homes, standard packages, and spec home finishes.
Supplier & Product Sourcing
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure supply chain reliability and competitive pricing.
- Negotiate pricing and terms for décor materials and services.
- Monitor product performance, availability, lead times, and substitutions as needed.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration
- Collaborate with Sales to support buyers and communicate the décor process and timelines.
- Work closely with Estimating to ensure accurate pricing and option management.
- Coordinate with Construction to confirm installation feasibility and address any field issues related to selections.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in residential interior design, décor management, or a similar role in the homebuilding industry.
- Strong knowledge of design trends, building materials, and residential construction practices.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- Hands-on experience with BuilderTrend for managing décor selections.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and customer service skills.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and scopes of work.
