Join Our Team as a Certified Welder – Winnipeg, MB
Are you a skilled welder looking for a role where your craftsmanship truly matters? We’re seeking a Certified Stick Welder to join our Winnipeg area- Argyle-based CNC machine shop specializing in railway component fabrication. In this role, you’ll work with heavy-duty steel, collaborate with a talented team, and help build components that keep Canada’s rail systems moving.
Applicants must be able to work from the Winnipeg/Argyle area.
Face-to-face interview required.
What You’ll Do
- Perform SMAW and MIG welding on steel components for railway applications.
- Interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings with precision.
- Operate welding equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
- Inspect welds to ensure compliance with CWB/Red Seal standards.
- Collaborate with CNC machinists and fabricators to maintain production flow.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Assist with setup and positioning of components prior to welding.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on welding equipment.
- Accurately document work and report issues to supervisors.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid welding certification (CWB required).
- Minimum 2 years of stick welding experience in an industrial setting.
- Experience with manganese stick welding is an asset.
- Familiarity with CNC machine processes is an advantage.
- Experience in railway or heavy industrial fabrication preferred.
- Strong understanding of welding techniques, metallurgy, and safety protocols.
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials.
