Sales Representative, Independent Grocery / SMB
Reports to: VP, Sales, Enterprise (Canada)

The company serves a growing customer base across Canada and North America and is expanding its market presence in the independent grocery sector.
Position Overview
We are hiring a Toronto based sales professional to manage a territory selling grocery technology solutions to independent store owners. This role focuses on in person relationship building, uncovering opportunities, and closing new business. You will handle the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualifying to closing. The target market is independent grocery stores, not corporate chains.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development
• Identify, target, and close new business with independent grocery stores in the Toronto market
• Use local network and industry knowledge to access decision makers and owner operators
• Conduct in person sales calls, including store visits and product demonstrations
• Grow the pipeline to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets
Territory and Account Management
• Maintain a structured territory plan with consistent coverage and follow up
• Keep CRM records accurate and up to date
• Build strong customer relationships that position the company as a reliable technology partner
Market and Competitive Awareness
• Stay current on grocery market trends, technology adoption, and competitive offerings including HDS and other POS providers
• Identify opportunities to convert competitor customers who are dissatisfied with limited system features
Collaboration and Reporting
• Work with the VP, Sales Enterprise and other sales leaders to align territory strategy with company goals
• Provide feedback from the field to guide product positioning and sales campaigns
• Share market intelligence with peers to improve team performance
Qualifications
• Minimum three years of sales experience in the grocery sector or related industries such as distributors or beverage companies with proven results
• Successful track record selling directly to independent grocery store owners
• Strong prospecting, closing, and relationship building skills
• Self motivated, competitive, and able to exceed quotas
• Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
• English required, proficiency in French or Spanish preferred
Compensation and Opportunity
• Base salary around $100,000 for qualified candidates
• On target earnings averaging $180,000 or more with uncapped commission
• Career growth potential as the company expands in Canada and North America
