The role:
The SharePoint Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of SharePoint and Power App environments. This includes system maintenance, monitoring, upgrades, and the implementation of new sites and features to meet evolving business needs. The role is also responsible for resolving technical issues, enhancing platform capabilities, and maintaining documentation and standards.
Key Responsibilities

SharePoint Environment Management (40%)
- Install and configure SharePoint environments including web apps, site collections, and lists.
- Monitor system performance and capacity.
- Execute upgrades, patches, and backups.
- Ensure compliance with security standards.

Security and Compliance (25%)
- Collaborate on data governance policies including classification and retention.
- Address security gaps and manage access controls.
- Ensure compliance with PIPEDA and CASL regulations.
- Implement auditing and reporting mechanisms.

Content Management (20%)
- Create and maintain SharePoint sites, libraries, workflows, and forms.
- Develop migration strategies for content transition.
- Manage lifecycle of information including archiving and deletion of ROT content.

Support and Training (15%)
- Provide technical support to users.
- Develop documentation and conduct training sessions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong expertise in SharePoint technologies and business processes.
- Strong knowledge on Power Apps Environment management, Power Automate, Power Apps.
- Proficiency in Windows Server, PowerShell, IIS, and .NET.
- Experience managing SharePoint farms and virtualized environments (VMware).
- Familiarity with enterprise admin tools (AvePoint, Metalogix, K2, Knowledgelake).
- Knowledge of SQL Server 2012, SharePoint 2013, and disaster recovery planning.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of ITIL processes and strategic needs of financial institutions.
Salary Range: CAD $85,000 – $95,000 annually
Compensation for this role is based on a combination of skills, experience, and internal equity. Candidates with stronger alignment to the role’s requirements may be placed higher within the range. Your recruiter will share more information about our total rewards package during the hiring process.
Office Location: Toronto Corporate Office with the ability to travel to our St. Catharines office as needed. This is a hybrid work opportunity.
Meridian has a remote work policy that allows flexibility for employees to work remotely but also requires a minimum of one day per week in the office for purposeful meetings to collaborate, innovate and build effective relationships with your team, your colleagues and your leader which is important to us.
