Associate Director, Project and Program Delivery Enterprise Program and Project Management Office
About the role
Location: Ottawa or Toronto Preferred
Canadian Blood Services is an essential part of the country’s network of healthcare systems. Together, with donors, recipients, employees, partners and volunteers, Canadian Blood Services is Canada’s Lifeline, providing lifesaving products and services in transfusion and transplantation for Canadian patients, and safeguarding Canada's systems of life essentials in blood, plasma, stem cells, and organs and tissues.
Canadian Blood Services (CBS) is seeking an Associate Director, Project and Program Delivery in the Enterprise Program and Project Management Office (ePMO) to join its dynamic Corporate Services team.
The Associate Director leads a series of project and program management and strategic execution plan activities associated with the delivery of high visibility projects for CBS. Playing a key role in ensuring collaboration and integration of activity between CBS business lines, the Associate Director oversees and supports the execution of projects through excellence in program and project management oversight, navigating risk and escalating issues as required while assuring compliance with all corporate portfolio reporting requirements.
As an ideal candidate, you bring an undergrad degree in a relevant field (business, engineering, science, etc.) combined with several years of experience managing multiple projects with large teams, budgets, and multiple stakeholders at an executive level. You bring demonstrable skill in navigating multiple competing priorities, executing with urgency, building teams, leading and coaching other project managers for high-performance, and ideally, experience managing and implementing change within a non-unionized and unionized workforce environment. CBS will benefit from your strong focus on outcomes and proven ability to manage a significant project portfolio for a large organization. Previous experience managing new product or process introduction in the regulated environment, or the health sector is an asset, as is experience with Agile teams. You are an outstanding communicator, credible and equally comfortable and effective engaging with the front line as you are presenting to senior leadership. Peers highly value you for your drive, authenticity, detail orientation, analytical skill, and ability to achieve results. Project Management certification such as a PMP or PRINCE 2 is considered an asset.
Are you ready to embark on a meaningful and inspiring journey, where what you do matters? Be part of Canada’s lifeline. Because we can all be the reason, the connection, that keeps Canadians living.
