Scope: A Receiving Clerk will unload trucks and receive shipments to verify information against bills of lading, accepts or rejects freight and put stock away in the correct storage location.

Shift: Midnight Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Unload trucks using hand truck, pallet jack or forklift.
  • Use basic hand tools such as utility knives, screwdrivers, band cutters and hammers.
  • Inspects freight for damage, verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents.
  • Maintain proper storage including rotating stock and cycle counts.
  • Issue stock to production departments.
  • Pull and issue cores for quick turns and remakes.
  • Enter shipment and stock data into computer.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Organize and store incoming materials.
  • Reduce the occurrence of errors and oversee successful delivery of items.
  • Maintain internal, manual or computerized record-keeping systems.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control.
  • Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English to the degree necessary to perform the job.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs (23 kg) without straining and be able to stand throughout the shift.
  • Proven experience as a receiving clerk or in a similar position.
  • Should possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience in operating forklifts.
  • Ability to thrive in a team.

Education and Experience:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Forklift License is required.
  • Familiarity with record-keeping best practices.
