Make your mark while you grow your career! As a Welding Maintenance Coordinator for the Albian Mine Maintenance Reliability department, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the productivity and effectiveness of Welding operations at both Muskeg River and Jack Pine mine sites.

  • Job location: Fort McMurray, AB – Albian Oil Sands
  • Shift schedule: 7 x 7, 12-hour shifts (Wednesday – Tuesday)
  • Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and update procedures and training material to ensure a safe welding program
  • Work with Shift Team Leads and the Planning & Scheduling team regarding all welding activities in weekly planning meetings
  • Review job tasks and provide insight to Welding workforce
  • Review daily work order for previous 24-hour shift – welding inspection and repairs
  • Manage steel inventory, direct charge items, air liquid and blue wave propane as required
  • Provide support to Planning when required for major repairs
  • Evaluate scopes for welding projects and rebuilds including dump bodies, dozer blades, and buckets
  • Prepare and maintain yearly budgets for rebuilds and conduct rebuild research with vendors as required

What You Bring To The Role

  • Welder Journeyman certificate in Alberta and/or an Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate
  • 5 plus years of supervisory experience is an asset
  • Industrial welding experience with Heavy Equipment Maintenance
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Previous experience maintenance planning programs would be an asset
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license (or equivalent) without restrictions
