Expected Salary : $57,508 to $86,262

In determining the final salary, Babcock will consider a variety of factors including the successful Candidate’s skills and experience and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and be presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.

In this role, you will:

    • Review technical drawings and Quality Assurance (QA) documentation
    • Inspect incoming material and confirm conformity to purchase requirements and technical specifications
    • Identify and assess used parts, components, and assemblies to determine fitness for use or repair
    • Interface with internal and external stakeholders to investigate, track and resolve non-conformance issues
    • Update company database programs, recording inspection results and documenting non-conformance issues
    • Report on and effectively communicate material availability and conformance issues to stakeholders
    • Assist warehouse personnel in inventory management as required
    • Other duties as required including participation in JHSC and ERT

The ideal candidate brings:

    • 2-3 years of technical inspection experience
    • Have a technical background in either the marine or aviation sectors
    • Have capacity to review / interpret national and international standards and apply these requirements during product assessments
    • Are able to understand and interpret technical drawings
    • Have excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Are fully conversant in the use of Microsoft Office products, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word
    • Have experience performing material QA inspections is desirable
    • Have knowledge of Quality Control or QA in manufacturing or in maintenance of mechanical, electronic, submarine, or industrial equipment is desirable
    • Have an accredited technical college diploma is an asset
    • Hold certification through the American Society of Quality as a Certified Quality Inspector/Technician is an asset
    • Have knowledge in material management for major equipment and systems in the Department of National Defence with DRMIS experience would be advantageous
    • Have knowledge of ISO 9001 and 18001 standards would be advantageous
    • You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
    • Available for on call shifts as required by the business
