About the role
Position Summary The Logistics and Customs Supervisor oversees inbound/outbound logistics and customs clearance operations, manages teams and carriers, and resolves issues to ensure compliant, on-time movement of goods.
Scope of Supervisor & Interaction Position will report to Division Supply Chain Manager. The Logistics and Customs Supervisor will lead essential functions within Logisitcs and lead our Customs team. Position will interact with team members in Supply Planning, Operations, CX, and Finance.
Responsibilities Logistics
- Design, develop, and implement PCD transportation & logistics programs
- Leverage Parker’s spend with providers of transportation services
- Liase with Corporate Logistics team on tools/strategy
- Assist with price & contract term negotiations for various transportation modes
- Assist with analyzing and monitoring transportation programs to ensure carrier compliance
- Works with suppliers to develop and manage continuous improvement programs
- Analyze divisional transportation spend and identify savings
- Conduct/Support division freight workshops/kaizen events
- Various logistics projects & tasks
Customs
- Lead Customs Compliance team
- Ensure import/export transactions comply with applicable customs laws and requirements.
- Classify products with correct HTS/HS codes and maintain supporting product documentation
- Coordinate with customs brokers, carriers, and internal teams to achieve timely clearance
- Maintain customs records to meet statutory retention requirements and support audits
- Maintain customs-related data in ERP/WMS/TMS and entry reconciliation.
- Investigate and resolve customs holds, entry errors, and penalties; identify and recommend duty-reduction or process-improvement opportunities (e.g., preferential origin, drawback).
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in transportation, logistics, and customs
- Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or relevant equivalent industry experience
- Experience leading teams
- Advanced computer and analytical skills
- Experience with Lean and Process Improvement Methodology
