The Chemical Service Technician provides best in class chemical related services to car wash operators with a focus on developing and nurturing customer relationships. Hands on services include chemical installation, calibration, and troubleshooting. This position is the “face” of the company representing our brand.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Schedule Regular Customer Visits To:
  • Ensure proper application, performance and cost efficacy
  • Maintain clean and professional chemical storage
  • Install, maintain, repair and/or adjust chemical dispensing and application systems to ensure correct usage and results
  • Identify necessary parts and issue appropriate requisitions
  • Complete, as directed, all service-related reporting documents including cost per car forms
  • Ensure visit frequency for chemical service is being met in a timely fashion

Communicate with Customers To:

  • Understand issues or concerns to address and bring to resolution
  • Assist with Product Ordering/Inventory Management
  • Submit reports in accordance with requirements and direction
  • Assist with collections
  • Make product recommendations
  • Perform and/or assist in testing products

Other:

Seek out opportunities to upsell existing customers, develop new customers or expand product usage

  • Significant local travel, with some overnight travel
  • May require limited air travel to support out of province accounts

Safety Excellence

  • Maintain a G driver’s license in good standing and apply safe driving practices at all times
  • Understand & follow Health & Safety guidelines and other Standard Operating Procedures
  • Apply all knowledge related to WHMIS, TDG, Ministry of Transportation both on and off-site
  • Work in a safe manner and strive for zero work related incidents
  • Operate Pump Truck in accordance with training certification guidelines

Education and Experience Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience working in a similar role
  • Car wash industry knowledge is an asset

Technical Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and ability to work with a range of tools and instruments
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate to a diverse range of people
  • Basic computer skills
  • Quick learner with good problem-solving ability
  • Good understanding of the car wash industry
  • Maintenance of a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Frequent sitting is required for driving. Customer sites may be noisy, and temperature is greatly impacted by the weather, requiring working within extreme temperatures. There is regular exposure to scents from chemicals. Physical demands of the position require sitting, standing, moving product and using equipment for testing, setting up and calibrating dispensing systems, working at heights from a ladder. Concentration is required for using hand-held tools and equipment.
