Scope (Purpose) The Program Coordinator will contribute to the successful planning, coordination, and execution of multiple projects within the Fuel Channels Program under Joint Projects & Services. These projects are critical to advancing clean energy goals, extending the lifespan of CANDU® nuclear reactors, and meeting regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Fuel Channels Program Manager, the Coordinator ensures effective program delivery by monitoring project schedules and budgets, supporting project control activities, and facilitating communication between internal teams and external stakeholders. This role is key to maintaining the efficiency and overall success of program operations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure the smooth operation of project activities across the fuel channels program, including initiation, scheduling, cost tracking, and communication.
  • Manage project change requests, ensuring timely processing and facilitating the stakeholder approval process.
  • Support project technical and financial closeout, ensuring all deliverables are completed and lessons learned are documented for continuous improvement.

General Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the programs, supporting the Program Manager and Fuel Channels team with planning, scheduling, progress tracking, and stakeholder communication.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and Conexus member organizations to facilitate fuel channels projects.
  • Support the initiation, co-ordination and management of multiple joint projects simultaneously to achieve the defined objectives of scope, quality, schedule and cost.
  • Serve as a point of contact for program/project coordination inquiries, providing timely assistance and guidance to members and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate project vendor selection process including preparing of request for proposals and facilitating the bid review with support from project participants and Conexus Business Services team.
  • Engage with suppliers and steering committee to monitor scope, cost, schedule, etc.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in the project management process.
  • Performing other duties as required.

Requirements Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Science or comparable field.
  • Proven experience (at least 3 years) in project management or coordination, preferably in a technical or engineering environment of small to medium projects (ranging in the $150K to $550K) of medium to high complexity with a project team.
  • This role requires the ability to coordinate multiple projects and their associated competing priorities for the stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the nuclear industry, CANDU power plant design and operation is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of CANDU nuclear industry-utilities, suppliers and organizations.
  • Previous experience with MS SharePoint, Project, or Access and/or other enterprise project management software. MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams) proficiency.

  • Proficiency in Digital & Project Management Tools: Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and other tools for tracking deliverables and managing workflows.

  • Effective Project Coordination: Timely execution of project activities, including scheduling, cost tracking, and communication.
  • Timely Processing of Project Changes: Prompt handling of project change requests, ensuring smooth approvals and updates.
  • Accurate & Timely Reporting: High-quality program/project reports outs and progress updates delivered on schedule.
  • Proactive Opportunity Identification: New project coordination / process improvement opportunities are consistently identified and pursued, fostering collaboration and innovation among the team.

Work Environment This role is based at the Conexus office in Toronto with the opportunity to work remotely 1-3 days per week.
