#Job Description
Reporting to the Business Centre Manager, theProject Quotation Specialistis responsible for owning and driving project business with an entrepreneurial mindset. This role goes beyond quoting—it is accountable for identifying opportunities, market intelligence, building relationships, and ultimately winning and closing profitable projects.
The incumbent must demonstrate a strong understanding of the sales cycle and project lifecycle, using strategic thinking, supplier alignment, and customer insight to position the business for success. This role operates with a profit centre mindset, where margin, growth, and long-term customer value are always top of mind.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with the Projects team, Sales Representatives, and key suppliers to drive project success. Own project opportunities from initial inquiry through to award and execution with a deep focus on closing business, not just providing pricing.
- Develop accurate, competitive, and strategic quotations aligned with market conditions building on market intelligence including competitor activity, pricing trends, and customer drivers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, engineers, and key stakeholders. Collaborate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, support, and technical expertise.
- Understand customer business models and position solutions that create long-term value. Ensure effective information flow across internal teams to support execution and alignment.
- Monitor project progress and identify risks or opportunities to protect margin and service levels.
- Take ownership of issues and drive timely, effective resolutions.
- Communicate clearly and proactively with both internal and external stakeholders
- Stay current on product knowledge, market developments, and emerging opportunities.
- Commit to continuous improvement mindset in pricing, process, and execution.
- Maintain a professional, organized, and accountable approach to all aspects of the role.
- Other duties as agreed upon
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum grade 12 education;
- Five (5) years’ experience in a similar position, an asset;
- An understanding of vendor relationships;
- Excellent problem-solving skills; strong organizational and time management skills, ability to work unsupervised in a fast-paced environment;
- Good negotiation and computer skills, and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;
- Team player, energetic with a positive professional attitude and manner;
- Good knowledge of the electrical distribution sales model, an asset;
- Knowledge of using price sheets and matrices, an asset.
