Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Senior Vibration Technician, the Level 1 Vibration
Technician collects, documents, and manages condition monitoring data while adhering to safe work practices and maintaining strong client relationships. The role requires the ability to prepare accurate technical reports, meet strict deadlines, and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect vibration data on rotating equipment using portable data collectors.
- Perform routine condition monitoring routes at customer facilities.
- Inspect equipment while collecting data and report abnormal operating conditions.
- Upload and organize collected data for analysis by senior vibration analysts.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and service reports.
- Assist with equipment setup, sensor installation, and basic troubleshooting.
- Follow established predictive maintenance procedures and standards.
- Adhere to all company and client safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain vibration monitoring equipment in good working condition.
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members.
- Assist with other reliability services as required.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Level I Vibration Analyst certification (ISO 18436-2 or equivalent) or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of rotating equipment.
- Experience in industrial maintenance or mechanical trades and experience using vibration data collectors (eg. SKF, Emerson, or similar) is an asset
- Familiarity with:
- Electric motors, pumps, fans, gearboxes, compressors, and bearings
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work at industrial facilities including manufacturing plants, power generation facilities, mining operations, and process industries.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The pay range is $28 - $35 per hour. Actual salaries will vary based on factors
such as education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as alignment with market data. The base salary is just one component of Ainsworth’s total compensation package, which also includes additional rewards, benefits and health insurance, among others.
