About the facility: LLRIBHS promotes health in our communities for the wellbeing of all members. We provide accessible, high quality health services and programs. Together with others, we work to build capacity and educate as we address both acute needs and determinants of health. The Cultural Program is located in La Ronge, Morins Hill.

About the position: The Cultural Manager provides overall supervision and direction to the Cultural Program Team. They will combine health knowledge, communication and management skills to effectively plan, direct, supervise and evaluate the delivery of the Cultural Program. The position focuses on directing and supporting the planning, proposal writing and implementation of cultural programs.

  • Ensuring the Woodland Cree Cultural and traditional practices meet the standards identified by local Elders.

  • Ensuring delivery of cultural services within the community development framework and with the goals and objectives of the Community Health Plan;

  • Establish health care goals and objectives in consultation with community staff and management team for the strategic planning of community health services;

  • Monitoring and initiate quality improvement measures for services provided by the cultural program;

  • Providing reports on a monthly/quarterly basis or as needed;

  • Providing direction and guidance on departmental guidelines;

  • Ensuring the Cultural Program delivery is within approved budget;

  • Participate in management and unit meetings to discuss program delivery, organizational structure, fiscal control, human resources and optimal staff development;

  • Ensure the program goals identified in the community health plan are being implemented.

Qualifications: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Indigenous Studies or related field (combination of education and relevant experience may be considered); Minimum three (3) years supervisor or managerial experience; Advanced computer skills such as Microsoft Word & Excel; Excellent verbal & written communication skills and Public Relations skills; Ability to speak & understand Cree is an asset; Ability to work in a dynamic environment, as part of a team and with minimal direction; Excellent organizational and communication skills; Must possess a Valid Class 5 driver’s license and have the ability to travel.
