Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
This is a position with a strong emphasis on high-quality teaching, excellent communication and dedication to student success with strong ability to offer education over online and blended format.
A qualified Part-Time Academic is needed to teach the following course from May 11th – June 19th, 2026. Class is delivered in the summer on Tuesdays from 7:30 pm to 9 pm (approximately). The entire course is offered via blended format (synchronous and asynchronous materials). The students in this class are a combination of those in early career stages and those with 5 to 15 years of work experience in their respective fields.
ESG thinking involves being clear about the company’s purpose and taking into consideration the needs of all the company’s stakeholders – shareholders, customers, employees, directors, business partners, competitors, governments, members of the press, local communities, and the public. The focus of this course is on responsible decision-making through the lens of multiple stakeholders and profound questions about business responsibilities. During the course, students will explore questions such as: “Do companies have ethical duties? What obligations do they have beyond generating profits for their owners? Does business have an obligation to protect the environment and develop more sustainable products. Does it have a duty to give back to the communities in which it operates, and what form should “giving back” take".
Qualifications/Requirements of Position
A Masters or PhD degree is required. The successful applicant must have demonstrated knowledge of the subject matter and practical experience as well as established a consistent record of effective teaching. Excellent oral/written and presentation skills are required. The successful candidate must also be able to meet the Faculty of Management’s accrediting body (AACSB) academic or professional qualification requirements.
Salary Range/Pay Rate
$8,260 per course (In accordance with CUPE Collective Agreement)
