Workload & schedule :

35 hours per week

Monday to Friday 8:30 pm to 4:30 pm (possibility of doing 8:00am to 4:00pm)

$27.07 - $36.14 per hour

Nature of the work

The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in programming or modifying in-house applications, managing networks, repairing complicated breakdowns for computer users and assisting computer analysts in the development and implementation of systems.

Description of tasks

  • Program or modify applications using appropriate programming languages in order to meet the specific needs of users
  • Test software and programs and, if necessary, adapt them to ensure that they are compatible with existing systems and that they meet the needs of users
  • Manage, install, and configure systems or oversee the installation of components according to the procedures he or she establishes
  • Test, modify and upgrade computer networks
  • Develop and oversee the application of various procedures related to the use of networks and equipment, particularly those concerning backup copies, destruction of obsolete files, and equipment maintenance.
  • Act as a resource person for the complicated breakdowns of equipment and software, particularly with regard to the installation and configuration, and, if need be, carry out installations and configurations
  • Draft instructions for software and applications and participate in the training of users
  • Formulate suggestions and recommendations concerning the purchasing of computer equipment
  • May assist in the analysis, development, and implementation of computer systems, if needed
  • May oversee computer-related work
  • May be required to train less experienced technicians, as well as coordinate the work of support staff in performing duties related to the implementation of programs involving technical operations for which he or she is responsible.
  • If need be, perform any other related duty.

Desired profile

Schooling Meet one of the following profiles:

  • Hold a Diploma of College Studies in Computer Science Technology
  • Hold a Diploma of College Students in in an appropriate technology specialty for the class of employment
  • Hold a diploma or an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority

Other Requirements

  • Ability to communicate in French and English (written and oral)
  • Great customer service and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to support users over the phone or from a distance (helpdesk)
  • Ability to prioritize and triage your queue of existing and incoming cases
  • Knowledge of O365 and Google Workspace
  • Knowledge of ChromeOS, Windows, and MacOS environments
  • Hold a valid driver's license and means of transportation

Would be considered assets

  • Knowledge of programing languages such as PHP, Angular, Google Script, Sharepoint Development
  • Experience with AI integration in business operations
  • Knowledge of cloud environment (Azure)
  • Experience in cybersecurity
  • Experience with GLPI
