Carrier Relations Manager - Settlements

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Accountable for the negotiation, onboarding, management and financial reconciliation of wireless roaming agreements with partners worldwide. Accountable for budgeting with specific emphasis on roaming settlements.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Ensures SaskTel has the required roaming coverage for its customers and negotiates the most economic rates.

  2. Coordinates roaming launches with Marketing and Operations, aligning to Carrier Relations roaming strategy. Responsible for contract management of all roaming agreements.

  3. Reconciles financial settlements for all roaming agreements. Performs revenue assurance and financial analysis. Monitors for potentially fraudulent activity and establish measures to reduce risks.

  4. Participates in the development of roaming strategies and departmental strategic planning.

  5. Develops contacts and manages relationships with other carriers and industry groups to develop new solutions, policies and enhancements.

  6. Consults with other internal groups on roaming related inquiries, including sharing roaming data for marketing initiatives and financial analysis/modeling on new agreements.

  7. Develops, implements and maintains internal procedures, methods and controls used in the analysis and reporting of SaskTel’s forecasted and actual settled revenues, aligning to financial standards.

  8. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of internal tools, workflows, reports and dashboards that assist in the operations and management of roaming.

  9. Accountable for following the necessary confidentiality requirements of working in Carrier Relations while ensuring SaskTel customers are treated professionally to enhance customer service and satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Commerce, Business Administration, Financial or Accounting background normally gained through post-secondary education or experience.

  2. Experience in the preparation and analysis of Operating budgets and Revenue and Expense forecasts and/or experience with mechanized corporate accounting systems an asset.

  3. Knowledge of the wireless industry and technologies.

  4. Strong planning, conceptual and analytical skills and mathematical ability.

  5. Well developed modeling and presentation skills.

  6. Ability to integrate objectives, industry trends, technology impacts, product benefits, customer perception, market characteristics, competitive thrusts and provisioning logistics to provide leadership in establishing strategic direction.

  7. A thorough knowledge of and considerable experience in finance and corporate development practices, procedures and techniques required.

  8. Ability to manage staff and lead cross-functional teams

  9. Must demonstrate a high level of commitment to the effective implementation of Partnership for Excellence process along with the ability to lead, inspire and motivate individuals within the team.
    10.Proficiency with micro computers in the areas of spreadsheets, word processing and graphics.
