As a member of Swish’s Kitchen, Laundry, and Food Processing (KLFP) division, the Sales and Service Representative is a specialist in the laundry, warewash, and restaurant sectors. Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Accounts, this hybrid position combines the responsibilities of Business Development and Service Technician. This role will be responsible for driving new business, onboarding new customers, and maintaining high customer satisfaction through timely equipment service and support. The role requires a balance of technical, mechanical, and sales skills to develop profitable business opportunities while ensuring customer equipment is operating optimally.
What does the Sales and Service Representative do? Sales & Business Development
- Understand and communicate the company’s Value Proposition, providing tailored solutions to grow profitable sales.
- Establish, maintain, and expand relationships with new and existing customers to meet corporate objectives.
- Research and identify potential customers; develop targeted sales plans.
- Prospect, qualify, and convert leads into business opportunities.
- Onboard new customers and provide ongoing support to ensure satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate sales activity records in CRM to track growth and pipeline.
- Achieve gross margin and sales targets while maintaining a healthy pipeline.
- Support vendor programs and internal marketing initiatives.
- Prepare proposals and conduct product demonstrations based on customer needs.
- Negotiate pricing within established guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal teams to meet customer requirements.
Service & Technical Support
- Service and repair industrial and commercial equipment, including troubleshooting.
- Manage inventory of replacement parts and equipment.
- Maintain care, organization, and stocking of service van.
- Complete all scheduled service calls following standard procedures.
- Assist with industrial equipment demonstrations or rentals as needed.
- Accurately document hours worked and services performed.
- Respond promptly to service inquiries.
- Provide after-hours or weekend emergency repairs when required.
- Follow all applicable safety guidelines, including WHMIS, TDG, and GVP compliance.
What do you need?
- High school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary study would be an asset.
- 3 years of B2B sales experience with proven success in business development (experience in the laundry, warewash, or food service industries would be an asset).
- 2 years of technical/mechanical experience (small engine or automotive expertise would be an asset).
- Strong business and financial acumen, including sales forecasting and customer planning.
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales and gross margin targets.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing industrial/commercial equipment.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Strong presentation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with computers, CRM systems, and emerging technologies.
- Valid Class 5 license and the ability and motivation to operate a company vehicle for work.
