We are currently seeking a temporary Therapeutics Assistant to join our Therapeutics Team, based out of our Long-Term Care Centre at 7404 - 139 Ave NW, Edmonton, Alberta. Reporting to the Manager, Therapeutic Services, the Therapeutics Assistant will assist and observe clients during treatments or programs, communicate and document client changes as well as maintain treatment areas, equipment and supplies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY:

  • Assist members of the Therapeutics team administer treatment.

  • Implement diversional therapeutic programs and activities within a Day Support and Long Term Care setting.

  • Assist and observe clients during treatments or programs.

  • Communicate and document client changes.

  • Maintain treatment areas, equipment and supplies.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • A Therapeutic Assistant Diploma is required.

  • The successful candidate should have experience working with a multi-disciplinary rehab team.

  • The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with a strong rehabilitation focus.

  • Possess strong communication/interpersonal skills and be able to promote client autonomy and involvement in active rehabilitation.

  • Must be able to promote and encourage excellent customer relations with clients and their families, visitors and co-workers.

All successful candidates must have, prior to start date:

  • A current and clear Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Check that has been obtained no more than 90 calendar days prior to the hire date.

  • A tuberculosis screening that has been completed no more than 12 months prior to the hire date.
