Position Summary

Amacon is looking for an energetic team player with a strong work ethic and who is proactive to take on the role as our Accounting Intern for a short-term contract. This position can handle any administrative task and demonstrates a strong ability to be organized, analytical, and enables efficiency and productivity. We are looking for post-secondary students in their final year of school and recent graduates who want hands-on experience in accounting.

This position is a 4-month contract starting in January 2026 with the potential for extension.

Position Responsibilities

  • Data entry into our accounting software (Yardi).

  • Filing invoices.

  • Scanning documents.

  • Accounts payable.

  • Bank deposits.

  • Download bank statements from various institutions we hold accounts in.

  • Create legal documents from templates.

  • Prepare simple year end working papers to analyze corporate results, and prepare financial statements using a template.

  • Create and analyze simple journal entries to post into accounting software.

  • Other ad hoc duties as required.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Education: Currently enrolled as a final-year student or recent graduate from an Accounting or Business Management program.

  • Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy.

  • Comfortable with repetitive tasks.

  • Comfortable working with Microsoft suite of products: specifically Word, Excel, Teams.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to meet tight timelines.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Willing to take on new tasks and projects with a team-based focus.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Must be punctual and reliable.

  • Able to work independently.

Additional Information

This contract hourly position works 8:30 am - 5:00 pm in the office, Monday through Friday and is in downtown Vancouver.
