We are seeking a hands-on QA Lead to join our Automation and Agile team. The ideal candidate is an exceptional software tester with strong skills in coding, automation, and CI/CD. You will take a lead role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust automated test suites for complex applications, while also driving best practices in quality assurance and fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of automated test frameworks for web, mobile, and backend components using Java, Maven, Selenium, Appium, and RestAssured.
- Execute, analyze, and troubleshoot automated and manual tests across UI and API layers.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and Azure DevOps (ADO).
- Investigate complex testing issues, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with development and external teams to drive resolution.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders in an Agile environment to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Identify, document, and track defects, driving them through to resolution.
- Continuously improve QA processes, methodologies, and test coverage.
- Mentor and guide QA team members, sharing expertise and best practices.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Extensive, hands-on experience with test automation tools, including Selenium and Appium.
- Strong programming skills in Java, and experience with Maven-based project structures.
- Solid experience with API testing tools and frameworks, especially RestAssured.
- Deep understanding of software QA methodologies, test processes, and best practices.
- Proven experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; able to investigate, explain, and resolve technical issues clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and work effectively with external partners.
- Experience working in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) development environments.

Qualifications:

- Understanding of BMO applications and infrastructure components.
- Problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot and identify problem areas throughout testing.
- Collaborate well with others. Ability to translate technical concepts into easy-to-understand terms.
- Able to analyze data and use testing metrics to highlight improvement opportunities.
- Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.

Salary:
$75,900.00 - $141,900.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
