Summary Hamilton Kent is seeking a Fabrication Operator (Splicer/Dipper) to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in producing high-quality gaskets used in critical infrastructure projects. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will help ensure reliable products that make a difference in communities.

Splicing involves using heated molds to join the ends of pre-cut rubber strips to form circular gaskets.

Location : 77 Carlingview Drive, Etobicoke, Ontario, M9W 5E6

Work Schedule : Sunday - Thursday; 11:00pm - 7:00am (Night Shift)

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and clean work area before starting tasks
  • Ensure mold temperature is correctly set before splicing
  • Prepare strips for splicing (dipping, sanding, heating, cleaning ends)
  • Verify rubber strips for straight cuts and clean ends
  • Load tape roll into machine and check quality
  • Operate mold and monitor curing process
  • Inspect gaskets for defects (cracks, lumps, pinholes)
  • Inject silicone and check for leaks
  • Record production data accurately
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals
  • Perform additional duties as required

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Willingness to learn and operate measuring tools (training provided)
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

Working Conditions

Plant environment with light physical activity (lifting up to 15 lbs, standing, walking). Exposure to heat and use of light press equipment. Commitment to health and safety standards in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
