  Description:The Buddhism, Psychology and Mental Health Program at New College seeks a sessional lecturer from September 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026 for the following in-person course:   BPM330H1F - Mindfulness-informed interventions for mental health   An exploration of how mindfulness-based approaches are being used in biomedical mental health interventions. We study mindfulness from historical, societal, structural, cultural, professional, and personal perspectives, with an emphasis on its Buddhist foundations and on concepts of the embodied mind. We look at how recent socio-political phenomena are inspiring diverse applications and adaptations of mindfulness-based interventions.   Enrolment Estimate: 60 students Estimated TA Support: 100 hours Class Schedule: Lecture: Friday 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.   Salary:                                                      Sessional Lecturer I:  $9,997.47 Sessional Lecturer I (Long-term):  $10,699.21 Sessional Lecturer II:  $10,699.21 Sessional Lecturer II (Long-term):  $10,953.96 Sessional Lecturer III:  $10,953.96 Sessional Lecturer III (Long-term):  $11,228.90   Note:  This course will be delivered in an in-person format.  However, please note that, in keeping with current circumstances, the course delivery may change as determined by the Faculty or the Department   Minimum Qualifications Completed or nearly completed Ph.D. with a scholarly background in an area related to Buddhist Studies, Mindfulness, and/or the intersections between Buddhism and Psychology and/or philosophical theories of mind.
