Role:
We are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk for a 6-month contract to cover maternity leave. This role is responsible for managing accounts payable processes, journal entries, month-end reconciliations, AR cheque deposits, and other accounting tasks to support the finance team.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Maintain open receipts by completing inventory vouchering and processing freight invoices.
  • Process inventory vouchers and resolve match exceptions in coordination with Purchasing and warehouse operations.
  • Monitor vendor discount policies and ensure timely payments to capture discounts.
  • Communicate with vendors to verify and update payment methods and banking details.
  • Review and manage pay cycles.
  • Enter and upload monthly journal entries for bank activities and other accounting items.
  • Reconcile accounts payable, inventory, prepayments, and expenses.
  • Prepare accounts receivable cheque deposits: open mail, identify customer details, and itemize payments.
  • Perform various accounting tasks as needed.

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:

  • College Diploma or Certificate in Accounting.
  • 2 years of Accounting/Bookkeeping experience.
  • Strong computer skills. PeopleSoft experience a definite asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good time-management skills.
