THE ROLE We are seeking a Senior Technical Analyst, Investments with a proven track-record to help us build and support the ever-expanding Investment technology portfolio. The ideal candidate must be able to deliver smart, scalable solutions that support UPP’s investment operations and long-term goals.

Reporting directly to the Director, Technology Enablement, the individual will partner with key technology partners to collaboratively engage, model, drive, and operationalize solutions across the organization. You will be extremely motivated, hands-on, subscribe to a continuous learning mindset, and apply leading practices and technologies to your work. You will bring in-depth experience in cloud engineering, automation, system configuration and cybersecurity. You also possess deep experience in medium-to-large enterprise-level complex technology environment(s).

This role is based in downtown Toronto under a hybrid work policy, allowing employees the flexibility to work remotely and in-office (approximately two days per week in-office).

Key Accountabilities The Senior Technical Analyst, Investments will be responsible for a variety of duties, including but not limited to the following:

  • Ability to create solutions from functional requirements.
  • Work with third-party development teams and system stakeholders to design and develop effective programming and software changes.
  • Responsible for integrating the product with other services through APIs.
  • Design and execute automated regression tests throughout QA and UAT phases in each sprint.
  • Perform bug and performance testing throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
  • Review and provide feedback on technical designs and code developed by other team members.
  • Create documentation for reference and reporting.
  • Provide on-call or after-hours support as needed to resolve critical issues.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree or Diploma in either Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Business/Commerce, and/or relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience developing software with Python, C#, SQL, JavaScript, and CSS (or comparable languages/technologies).
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable regarding client needs and technology.
  • Understanding of the agile methodology and DevOps (CI/CD) principles.
  • Capable of prioritizing multiple projects and still meeting deadlines.

NICE-TO-HAVE

  • Experience with data models, database design development, data profiling (ETL), and data mining.
  • Familiarity with SaaS platforms like Dynamo, ServiceNow or, Salesforce.
  • Familiarity with low code platforms like OutSystems.
  • Familiarity with Integration Platforms like informatica.
  • Certification as a Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of OMS and EMS systems and/or Capital Markets Investment processes would be an asset.
