Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Painter with expertise in spray-painting techniques and industrial coating applications. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of coatings, solvents, chemicals, and safety standards involved in painting metal surfaces and fabricated components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare metal and other surfaces for painting (cleaning, sanding, masking).
  • Apply primers, sealers, and topcoat paints using airless, HVLP, or conventional spray guns.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, paint specifications, and MSDS.
  • Mix and thin paints/coatings to proper viscosity per guidelines.
  • Ensure adhesion and finish quality by monitoring film thickness, dry times, and curing.
  • Inspect painted surfaces, perform quality checks, and touch-ups as required.
  • Operate and maintain spray booths, ventilation systems, and paint equipment.
  • Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate PPE, including respirators.
  • Maintain records of paint usage, batch details, and equipment maintenance.
  • Collaborate with fabrication, welding, and QA teams to meet production goals.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience as an industrial spray painter in manufacturing or fabrication.
  • Strong understanding of paint formulations, surface preparation, and chemical handling.
  • Training or certification in industrial painting/coatings (e.g., NACE, SSPC) considered an asset.
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and paint codes.
  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, or on scaffolding.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to quality and safety.

Working Conditions

  • Exposure to fumes, dust, and solvents (PPE provided).
  • Standing for long periods; work in hot/cold environments as needed.
  • May require overtime, shift work, or weekend work to meet production demands.

Hours of Work

  • Monday – Thursday: 9:00 am to 6:30 pm
  • Friday: 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
  • 44-hour work week (averaging arrangement)
