What you'll be doing
The Consultant Protective Intelligence will be part of the Enterprise Physical Security team within Corporate Security and accountable for supporting the delivery of the Global Security Operations Centre (GSOC) program. The Consultant, Protective Intelligence will monitor global events in real-time and conduct in-depth analysis of potential threats, including geopolitical and physical risks, to identify emerging trends and vulnerabilities. Provide real-time intelligence support during critical incidents, ensuring leadership has the information needed to make informed decisions. Prepare and present protective intelligence briefs for various levels of audiences and business verticals to support critical decision making across the company. Configure intelligence tools to ensure output is current and accurate.
Serve as a subject matter expert for protective intelligence-related tasks which include proactive threat detection and escalation, threat and risk assessments. Build strong relationships internally and externally. You understand views of various stakeholders and facilitate problem solving to find the best solution for our clients. Responsible for supporting the Travel Journey Management Program through the maintenance and execution of several operational tasks. Stay current on industry trends, emerging threats, and best practices in protective intelligence globally. Identify opportunities to enhance tools, processes, and methodologies to improve the effectiveness of the protective intelligence program.

How You’ll Succeed
- Relationship Management - Liaise with stakeholders to support CIBC’s physical security efforts. This will include establishing lines of communication and a network of good professional relationships. Providing advice and support to various internal stakeholders on Global Security Operations.
- Improving Process Efficiency – Identify, develop, and implement routine operational process enhancements to increase the team’s efficiency. Analytical and detail-oriented with a passion for intelligence gathering and analysis to identify emerging threats and trends. Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in protective intelligence to facilitate continuous learning.
- Physical Security Standards – Monitors global events in real time for general awareness and issues that could impact operations. Identifying, evaluating, and recommending methods to mitigate threats to people and property.
- Compliance & Authorities/Decision Rights - As an employee of CIBC, the incumbent must comply with all applicable CIBC and Line of Business policies, standards, guidelines and controls. As a key contributor to the business unit, this job has the authority to recommend changes to business processes in order to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Job Dimensions- Monitors data from various sources to identify threats and evaluate opportunities around the world. Evaluates and diagnoses situations, applies critical thinking and coordinates with other team members as required. Monitors global events in real time for general awareness and issues that could impact operations. Prepares Protective Intelligence reports and analysis as required
Who you are
- You can demonstrate 5+ years of experience in security, threat analysis, or intelligence. Academic or professional training in political or security analysis is ideal. A strong working knowledge of current global dynamics, including the geopolitical landscape and international security, required

What you'll be doing
