Peninsula Co-op is inviting applications for the position of Grocery Manager at our Food Centre located at 2132 Keating X Rd, Saanichton BC V8M 2A6. This is a full-time, permanent position. Our ideal candidate will have the availability to accommodate a variety of shifts that include weekdays and weekends to ensure our operation and team members benefit from their expertise.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a dynamic and development-driven Grocery Specialist to spearhead our team of customer service pros. We are a people first business, with a strong focus on our customer and member needs. We are looking for a like-minded, innovative leader to support our dedicated and engaged team members. Our ideal candidate will have the following:

High school diploma or equivalent required, degree in business administration, retail management, or a related field preferred.

3+ years of retail management experience; preferably in a high-volume grocery department,
-
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop a team,
-
Proficiency in inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and merchandising,
-
Experience planning, budgeting and working with operating statements,
-
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills,
-
Knowledge of industry and business trends,
-
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple demands,
-
A commitment to quality and an eye for detail,
-
Strong computer skills, Excel, Word and other related sales tracking software required.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Overseeing all aspects of grocery department operations; maintaining Peninsula Co-op’s high standards for customer service, developing, and achieving operating plans and budgets, designing, and executing merchandising and marketing programs, taking care of people, including hiring and performance development, and working cooperatively with other departments, suppliers, etc.
