Who you are

  • 4+ years of technical recruiting experience, especially in startups or high-growth companies, with a proven track record of identifying, qualifying, and closing exceptional technical talent

  • Outstanding communication skills - You deliver high-quality recruiting experiences while respecting candidates' and hiring managers' time. You're a team player who's comfortable wearing multiple hats
  • Commitment to inclusive hiring - You're passionate about building diverse teams and have experience implementing strategies to source and engage candidates from across all backgrounds
  • Process-building experience - You’re comfortable working collaboratively in a modern ATS. You've built or helped refine recruiting processes, interview frameworks, and you know how to scale without sacrificing candidate experience
  • Hands-on experience with Ashby; familiarity with sourcing tools and other recruiting platforms
  • In-house startup experience
  • A strong network in the engineering, product, and design communities
  • Previous experience recruiting for technical roles across multiple specializations (backend, frontend, infra, etc.)

What the job involves

  • You'll be the specialist who brings top engineering talent through the door—sourcing exceptional candidates, managing the full recruiting lifecycle, and delivering outstanding candidate experiences
  • You'll partner closely with our Head of Talent and engineering hiring managers, owning end-to-end recruiting for engineering roles while helping us scale our technical team
  • Own the full recruiting lifecycle for all engineering, product, and design roles (whether full-stack engineers, product managers, or designers) ensuring a thoughtful and engaging candidate experience from first touch to offer acceptance
  • Serve as a candidate's first impression of Runway, sharing our mission, values, and culture in ways that inspire them to engage with us
  • Track key recruiting metrics and leverage data to measure effectiveness, pipeline health, forecast hiring needs, and drive continuous improvement in our hiring strategies
  • Build and maintain strong talent pipelines through proactive sourcing
  • Partner with hiring managers on role scoping and interview processes (vs. "advising on strategy")
  • Ensure exceptional candidate experience from first touch through offer acceptance
  • Source and engage passive candidates through creative outreach strategies, leveraging advanced search techniques, technical communities, and diverse sourcing channels to build strong talent pipelines
  • Build long-term relationships with candidates and technical communities, creating ongoing pipelines for future hiring needs
