Our Manager, Quality Assurance will play an integral role within the management team in ensuring that our products satisfy all quality and regulatory requirements before they reach our customers.

EXPERIENCE
- You have proven experience as a QA Manager
- You have a Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry or other relevant education
- You have strong Microsoft 365 and other computer application skills
NICE-TO-HAVE
- You have experience implementing RCAs to solve complex QA/QC technical issues
- You have cross-functional training (production and projects)
- You have led third party GFSI and CFIA audits
- You have experience in UHT and ESL processing

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Lead team to successfully navigate GMP, GFSI, CFIA, and external customer audits.
- Support the plant’s management team by providing updates on Quality KPI's that highlight potential gaps in product quality and safety systems
- Lead RCA process with multi-functional teams to troubleshoot and create corrective action plans to resolve product quality and production-related issues
- Develop and manage facility Quality budget including Capital Expenditures
- Assist the company through various initiatives to meet cost targets and monitor quality standards
- Provide direction to and maintain the focus of QA team to meet company priorities and strategic targets
- Collaborate with production, and maintenance teams to improve production, finished product consistency and quality, and effectively reduce consumer complaints
- Develop and promote a positive working culture that supports inclusion and is based on open and honest dialogue and involvement of all Team Members
- Identify FSQA risks and create proactive and preventative mitigation plans
- Work with Corporate Quality Specialist to verify that proper certifications and approvals are in place for all new products and ingredients
- Oversee internal audits, inspection processes, documentation, and reports to ensure compliance with standards and specifications
- Conduct investigations to resolve product quality related customer complaints and provide responses in a timely manner
- Ensure HACCP and Food Safety systems are updated and current to reflect changes in the plant, processes, equipment, ingredients, suppliers, and new products
- Conduct monthly Quality and GFSI meetings with other departments to prepare for audits
- Ensure recipes, labels, packaging, and processes are compliant with company standards & specifications as established by Marketing, R+D, and Regulatory departments
- Coach and develop members of the quality team to continually improve upon technical and quality skillsets
- Work directly with the CFIA to correct any non-conformances during annual GMP FSEP audits. Investigate and resolve any CFIA generated consumer-related complaints
- Ensure the Sanitation Team performs duties in the plant to the highest standards to create a clean work environment that will pass Food Safety, QA testing, and EMP
- Ensure all food safety policies, procedures, and the principles of HAACP and SQF are implemented and adhered to throughout the plant by all management and team members in order to be audit-ready
- Work directly with the QA Director implementing Corporate Quality Initiatives
- Prepare KPI reports and participate in Apex meetings at the plant and with the QA Director
- Oversee Mock Recall, Traceability, and Mass Balance exercises to monitor the system’s effectiveness and ensure that team members are familiar with their roles and responsibilities.
