Tandem Truck Driver - Lunenburg
About the role
Atlantic Road Construction & Paving is a large heavy civil construction company specializing in heavy civil excavation and flatworks, pipeline placement, concrete placement, and asphalt paving. Our team has a project in Lunenburg, NS starting December 1 and expected to run through all of 2026. We are looking to hire qualified individuals that live within a reasonable commute to our jobsite to join our team for the duration of the project.
Requirements:

Valid class 3 driver’s license.

Clean drivers abstract.
-
3 years of commercial driving experience.
-
License permitting operation of manual transmission and ability to do so required.
-
Ability to operate vehicle in a safe manner in all weather conditions.

Must be reliable and punctual.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Check equipment before operating to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency components are in good working order.
-
Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work as required.
-
Maneuver tandem into loading or unloading positions, follow signals from crew members as needed, check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.

Ensure that any debris caused by loading/unloading of equipment is cleaned up.

Operate equipment such as mobile radios and telephones to exchange necessary information to supervisors or other operators.

Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively to provide quality customer service.

Communicate any unsafe conditions or accident/injuries immediately to the supervisor.

Keep detailed and accurate reports and documentation.

Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulation, and compliance.
