About the role
Part-time, 16-hours per week, NW Calgary, Own vehicle required
We are seeking a Family Assistant to provide afterschool care in our home for our three daughters, ages 8, 11, and 16, and our little old Boston Terrier.
The ideal candidate will be reliably present in our home afterschool during the weekdays for 3-4 hours per day, has their own reliable vehicle, and is caring, fun, and has a good sense of humor.
Work Hours: 16 hours per week of in home coverage during the school year:
- Mon - Thur from 2:30 - 5:30 PM
- Fridays from noon until 4:00 PM
A Typical Day:
- Arrive at our home at 2:30 PM.
- Prepare a snack, let the dog outside, and do a quick tidy before kids arrive.
- Meet the youngest at the bus stop about half a block away.
- The two older children walk home by themselves and arrive around 2:50 PM.
- Prepare a healthy afterschool snack for everyone.
- Some days you’ll transport kids (in your own vehicle, mileage will be paid) to their extra-curricular activities (dancing) in a neighbouring community. Assisting with hair before dance class would be helpful too.
- One or both parents will arrive home by 5:30 PM to relieve you.
Please note: The successful candidate will be required to provide references, a Police Information Check, and proof of authorization to work in Canada if they are not a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 16.0 per week
